FS: Alpine 89 325ix 5 Speed $12k invested! Boise, Idaho $5000

SOLD

Here is a list of everything that I can think of that has been done since I've owned the car:

Engine:
Brand New: Cap and Rotor, Spark Plug Wires, Coil, Fuel Regulator, Timing Belt Kit, Water Pump, Radiator, Hoses, t-stat, Temp Sensors, All Gaskets (oil, exhaust, intake, etc), Catalytic Converter, Fuel Pump
Rebuilt: Fuel Injectors, Starter, 120amp Alternator
The person to own the car before me let the timing belt go, and had to have the head rebuilt, etc, that happened about 15k miles before I got the car, by a reputable shop in SLC. So it has 35k on a rebuilt top end/head gasket.

Drive Train:
5 speed swap including: Transmission, Transfer Case, Proper 3.91 Front & Rear Differentials, all with 80k miles on them, now they have about 100k miles.
Lightened Flywheel (about 15lbs if I remember correctly)
Brand New: Sachs Clutch Kit (pressure plate, disc, t/o bearing), t/o arm, pilot bearing, slave cylinder, master cylinder, hydraulic line, shifter bushings etc.
Comes with 1 extra front and rear drive shaft.
z3 1.9 short shifter
New CV boots on every axle

Suspension:
New: Tie Rods, Bilstein HDs, TMS "life time" rear shock mounts, Urethane Ball Joint Covers
New Urethane Bushings: Trailing Arm, Subframe, Control Arm

Brakes:
New: Stainless Brake Lines (coated), Calipers, ATE Premium Rotors (superdisks) all 4 corners, PBR Metal Master Pads

Interior:
Recaro "Style" Seats... These aren't just "Recaro Style," they are actual Recaro seats, heated, cooled, lumbar adjustment, adjustable side bolsters, and electric tilt adjust. They're tan leather, and match the interior pretty well. I adapted them to the stock e30 seat base.
Illuminated shift knob
Leather ebrake handle
Leather shift and ebrake boots
Crack-free dash (though it does have a small imperfection where somebody before me superglued something to it, I sanded it down as well as I could, but there is still a blemish)

ICE, Electrics, & Body:
Bi-xenon headlights in custom housings. The projector used was the bosch projector from the e65, but its the same projector in the e46 housings, too.

iS lip (in rough shape)
DIY shadowline (used plastidip spray and its been on for a year with absolutly no peeling, blemishes or anything)

The car has been sound deadened pretty well, though at 70-75mph there is a decent harmonic caused by the urethane bushings, above or below it is not noticable.

New DieHard Battery
Eclipse CD7000 with GPS reciever
Adire Koda 6.5" midbass drivers in custom (read: ugly) kick panels
SEAS Prestige 27TAFNC/G Tweeter in stock tweeter pod

I have the deck running an active crossover network between the midbass and the seas tweets.

The Adire Kodas are incredible drivers, they dig deep and hard (really don't need a sub, unless you're a bass head) so to me, its worth it having them in there. They're running off the deck right now, if you want them to sound their best, hook them up to an amp, which the car is already wired for.

The system was all wired properly using custom interconnects made with belden cables if you want to install an amp. There is wiring for a 4 way active crossover from the deck. If you want to add amps, you'll need to get power cable, thats it. There are no ground loop issues, and there never will be if you wire directly to the battery.

I think thats a pretty comprehensive list of all thats been done. Its always hard to remember what all I've done to my cars because I'm generally thorough.

Problems:
I already mentioned the dash blemish. There is a crack in the windshield, I deal with it.

The A/C just stopped working one day. I'm assuming that it is out of freon because I can trick the clutch into engaging, so you'll probablly just need a reseal kit and will be good to go.

The paint over all is in okay condition. Somebody keyed her long ago (before I owned her) and somebody else went over it poorly with a paint pen. If you're handy with body work (i am not) i'm sure you could fix it, or just spend a couple hundred at a detailer. The paint on the ix body kit has started to fade away, and the paint on the mirrors is in poor shape. I was planning on getting some matched paint in a spray can and going to town. You can't notice the ix kit's paint problems from even 5 feet, but the mirrors are pretty bad. Other that those issues, the body is in good shape. There is a small dent on the driver's fender, but I think thats the only dent.

I've never cared much for aesthetics of my cars, so I've left the body alone. I worry more about mechanics, because I don't like to be left stranded.

She will need new tires soon (probably about 10k miles) and does not have a spare.

I love her, but I have no time to finish her off, and I would like to pay my new car off. She averages about 22mpg 70/30 city/highway, and gets 24mpg at 90mph with 2 other guys in the car. The speed limits here are 75, so I have no clue what kind of milage she gets at 65, but I do know my econometer reads about 5mpg better at 75 than it does 90.

anyway, for a 21 year old car (9/88 build date) shes in fantastic shape.

Sorry for the Novel!

-Addis

The seats are amazing. I wish the interior in my new car weren't black so I could throw them in it!

Shit... This, or a downpayment on an sti.

Serious, how well has having an iX benefited you up here? I think I need more turning wheels for the snow.

Haha... well, if you look at it financially this car is done depreciating, assuming you continue to maintain it

AWD has been amazing with all of the snow we've had the last couple of seasons. I didn't have to get snow tires and didn't change my driving habbits just because there was a few inches on the ground. I guess I did put my foot into a bit more, as its alot of fun when you know you're not going to crash!

Thanks,
They're Recaro's "Style" seat... not "recaro style" but they forwhatever decided to be confusing and name one of their seats "style" which is silly.
