    Hey, thanks for the encouragement. Moving the steering will not cause mechanical issues. You can't see it but there is a U-joint between the rack and your wheel. This allows the wheel to move up or down. I strongly recommend to fabricate a permanent U-shaped or box bracket to lower the column though.

    I absolutely love your build.

    I'm upgrading a 1990 325is and I want to lower the steering column. The smaller wheel I switched to blocks the tach from view.

    Did lowering the steering column cause other mechanical issues?

    I'm following your build and would really appreciate any info you can provide.
