Suspension guru help with Koni fitment

8641 1210 on Koni's fitment page never says it fits convertibles.
http://www.koni-na.com/en-US/NorthAm...=114&mk=6&mt=1

Purportedly they were in this '91 318 convertible:
http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=406640

So will they fit my '92 convertible?

I have "bought" 86-2277's 3x only to be told they were back ordered from anywhere to 1-3 months (currently have the money for a pair on hold although the vendor said they released it a week ago)

Found this info in a thread here, not certain how it helps. lol

8641 1021 / 80 2522:
485/614 mm compressed/expanded length
500/750 N compression/rebound stiffness

8641 1210 / 80 2641:
488/585 mm
700/750 N

This says the strut is the same for 318 & 325, does that mean I can use the inserts?

Don't make me look up which PN I have. You however do have 51mm housings. Only the early 318 M10 and early eta cars had 45s. Since the OP doesn't say whether he ordered those for an early or late 318 just check the PN to see what size they are. As to whether they are rated for your car, that's a different conversation since you are trying to determine if they fit. Just keep in mind a 325i weighs less than a cabrio and a 318 weighs less again.

So they are 51mm but valved for a lighter car. Now you have to talk about the springs you are using since it's just as important that the dampers and springs are suited to each other.

I had not looked at the front springs (I put the rear Konis in and saw the blue H&R springs).

The fronts are gray. 50404.55f is the part number which I can't find. 50407 is the currently available part:
https://www.tirerack.com/suspension/...1&autoModClar=

I have the receipt, he paid the same to Pelican in 2013.

Per Koni the 8641 1210 Sport fit as long as there are lowering springs involved.

So shock warehouse shows a top adjustable which is good. They are also asking $158@ so keep in mind that the warranty only goes to the original owner....which means you need a bill of sale with your name on it.

Yup, Koni said that too. I sent a text asking for his best no warranty price. Waiting on a reply.

Koni also validated there is a wait for the other ones.

I believe I bought the Koni FSDs for my Audi from them. Call to make sure they are in stock....and I wouldn't underestimate the value of that warranty
